WHAT’S ON AT FIA FEST:

An extraordinary experience of ordinary, everyday sound.

A one woman dance theatre work with original sound design, poetry & text. A personal & universal exploration of everyday sound & hearing loss.

A dancer wrestles with sound as it misbehaves in ways you wouldn’t expect. Sometimes it engulfs you & other times it’s on the tip of your tongue. It’s flirtatious, it hooks you into stories & sends you on your not so merry way to a corner of a room where it’s quiet, & you’re alone.

4pm on Saturday 7th of March at AMATA, Penryn

With a name like hers, Bride Thompson has always known that as soon as she finds the man of her dreams, walks down that aisle, and marries him, everything else will fall into place.

So now that she's engaged, everyone else wants to know, why has she moved into a cupboard? Is the girl who ate tamagotchis and coloured in her teeth finally about to put on a big white dress? And what exactly is she doing with three anonymous instagram accounts?

Through interviews with Bride's friends, family, and childhood pet rabbit, Sad Bride is a new dark solo comedy play by Charlotte Merriam (Writer/Actor) and Vickers (Director/Dramaturg), that explores the industrial wedding complex, compulsory heterosexuality, and what to do if you meet the 'one' but are still the troll under a bridge.

The new interactive workshop/comedy show/experiment from the award winning Cornish artist - Seamas Carey.

Is it a comedy show? Is it a workshop? Is it a new cult?
Well, its sort of all three...
Seamas Carey is doing Community Service, but he can't do it on his own.

Deftly deploying his trademark blend of singing, dancing and silliness, this award-winning Cornish artist (and you) will attempt to build a community in just 50 minutes.

Can it be done? There's only one way to find out.

An indoor, work-in-progress sharing, following a successful summer of festival performances in UK & Italy.

This is an interactive participatory experience - you will not be singled out!

Running time: 60 mins

Suitable for all ages
